Ah, niceness.
[livejournal.com profile] purplerainbow, [livejournal.com profile] snowdrop24, and [livejournal.com profile] osiris13 were just here, giving me Christmas presents. They gave me a soft alarm clock (you can throw it at the wall, plus it talks!) which now refuses to work - Pedar says he'll look at it in a moment - and a Shawshank Redemption poster, a bag of chocolate coins, two bracelets (both from Hannah, one of which she made) and my SG-5 photo with JR Bourne, and I actually look normal in it, surprisingly.

I think they liked the presents I gave them - mirrored bags, a blue one for Emily and a red one for Clare, with the wooden beaded necklaces I got in Janpath, and a purple lahariya scarf for Hannah, along with a purple bracelet and that Alyson Hannigan picture I got at SG-5.

As for the presents they gave each other - my favourites was Hannah's pen, transparent, that lit up so you can use it in the dark (from Emily) and something Em got from Hannah, that I initially thought was a shot glass but is actually a rather decadent-looking transparent gel candle in a small glass. Clare suggested using it as a shot glass after the candle burns down, and if you're using tequila, what does it matter that it might taste of candle?

There's still wrapping paper lying around, and I really don't care. Hannah was telling me about a top she saw ("army colour" and with the word "M*A*S*H*E*D" on it! *giggle*) and I told her about how I've always wanted a top with "Slashers for more porn" on it, or else "Slashy happy people."

And then they went, and on the way downstairs we met Pedar, whose initial reaction was: (and he thinks I didn't hear) "Oh, my God."
I think it might have been something to do with the bags, or the sudden invasion, or perhaps the amount of purple on [livejournal.com profile] purplerainbow, but he rose to the occasion very well and suddenly remembered something that has slipped everyone's mind for four years. He disappeared mumbling something about having to give something to Clare, baffling everyone, but when he came back with a white envelope with Clare's name on, I suddenly remembered myself. When we moved into this house, we did the traditional good-luck puja for it, and part of it was we had to give money to five unmarried girls. Clare's has been sitting in an envelope since August 1998.

Nevermind, she seemed happy to receive the sudden windfall, and they left on a happy note.

I'm happy now too.

I love the bag, and the money was nice but unexpected. Just got back now at 10 to 7. The journey is very long and we stopped off to shop in Liverpool.

Glad you like.
You stopped to shop? Why am I not surprised?

lol. It was fun, but all the tops shut at half five so we had to go home. The scary thing is that means it must have taken us 1hr and 20 mins to get home. *eek*!

I really want it... the T-shirt, I mean.
And the soft alarm clock still refuses to work! Makes no noise at all!

He probably was surprised to see us, but at least I didn't leap over a wall and cry "hello Clareyperson's mother!" as I did when I met Clare's parents. That might have given him heart failure.

And I'm happy too. Very.

*laughs* Oh, Clare's poor mother... I would ask you if you really did this, but knowing you I'm sure you did...

Oh, I did. I had forgotten, until recently, but Clare hadn't, and I'm sure Clare's mother hadn't...
Although, the wall wasn't that time. Leaping over a wall was when I met someone else's parents, I think. I always like to make a good impression, y'know!

And it wasn't a very big wall.
