raven: [hello my name is] and a silhouette image of a raven (shaking)

And so she looks at the time. She looks at her watch. She blinks.
She's tired. She doesn't want to have to log in to the client. She takes the easy way out and clicks on "Update Journal."
And she is finished talking about herself in the third person.

This morning, we had a little visit from Mrs Enstone and Mrs Moon, both of them in full flow. They want us to think about careers and A-level choices. I never really thought about it... or no, that's a lie, I did. I did. It just seems close enough to taste now. I know some of my A-level choices, but I don't know, maybe I need advice.

I enjoy listening to other people telling me what they're going to be. I remember a couple of years ago, Loz asked me what I thought she should be. I thought about it, and...
"An ecologist," I said, lazily. "You want to save the planet."
Today, she was going round collecting paper from everyone to take to be recycled. I asked her not long before what she planned to do. "Biology and Geography," she said. "I'm going to be an ecologist or an environmental consultant."
I leave the welfare of the planet in her capable hands.

She's still one of my favourite people, though I see her so rarely nowadays. I sometimes feel she's gone somewhere I can't touch her, can't relate to her, at least, not in the way I used to do. I don't think it really matters, because she seems to be happier now. It wasn't a phase after all - she really wants to save the world.
Today, she was listening to me putting together a speech about the evils of alcohol. "You're a real writer," she said, and added "It just pours out, doesn't it?" while listening to me ramble, and I wondered why everything is changing while some things are staying resolutely the same. It's all a mystery to me.

I'm hungry. I only had a sandwich at lunchtime, because of its being Thursday, but watching The Crucible did make up for it, at least in part. I really like the part of it we've seen, contrary to what I expected. "This play all revolves around one three-letter word," he said. "Beginning with S."
"Sin," said some bright spark.
"Good, but no. Anyone."
A flurry of guesses, hardly any of three-letters and even less beginning with S.
"Sex," he said. "The whole play is loaded with sexual tension."
Ahem. I had to pay attention to all the male characters after that.
Well, wouldn't you?

I need to get ready for tomorrow soon. I can't carry a bag, so I have to somehow fit my purse, keys, phone, and CD player about my person. After Prizegiving, I plan to go into Liverpool (possibly with [livejournal.com profile] eniddy?) and get myself a sandwich. A six-inch one, with extra cheese and pizza sauce and lettuce and cucmber and even more cheese...
Dear God. Joey Tribbianni moment.

Ah, no more. I've rambled enough.

You're doing the Crucible?
I adore that play!
The film is seriously sad, I cried from the beginning 'til way after the end, possibly because I knew what was coming.
And Winona Ryder was fantabulous... ;P

We haven't got the film yet! We've got the BBC version, which isn't bad...
And I adore it too, though we're only part of the way in. So cool...
