General education
Oct. 20th, 2002 02:03 pmI sometimes think my two weekend mornings spent drowning in newspapers contribute more to my general education than five weekdays in school.
So far today we have learnt about Jeremey Paxman's strictures on politicians ("Some are good, some are bad, and some must be handled as if they were radioactive"), about the fact there is a competition in Australia to find the country's most beautiful prisoner ("Search for Miss Captivity!") and about how the verb "to google" will be in the next edition of the Oxford English Dictionary.
Talking of Google, Pedar wants me to set his homepage to news.google.com - and for some reason he needs me to do it, rather than doing it himself.
I mentioned Google in Klingon and his eyes glazed over...
