Oh my god, this is gorgeous. And you are so talented that it is kind of unfair to the rest of us. Seriously, the glimpse you give us here, the touches of worldbuilding, the parallels to the show and the disjunctions with it . . . gorgeous. Genius. And the tenderness between Hawkeye and BJ is overwhelming and subtle and perfect. This line was amazing:

"Never been, and I miss it. You gotta tell me what exactly I miss about it sometime."

. . . because it was 100% a Hawkeye Pierce line, perfectly something he'd say, but with a different kind of melancholy to it, adjusted to the different horror of their circumstances.
