Happy Diwali, shubh deepavali. I write this very far from India and very far from home, but here is very grey, and white, and I think we need it here more than ever.

शुभ दीपावली! I hope it's not too terrible, far from home.

Happy Diwali! I am making a glorious saffron and yoghurt curry with my mum, and please imagine me forcing jalebis and burfi and laddoos on you in an insistent but well-intentioned way.

I looked for the most light-based icon I had, and came up with lovely Clyde from SJA.

Happy Diwali. :)

You, I will reply to your email tomorrow, busy long day, but DO NOT SET YOUR APARTMENT ON FIRE. THIS IS IMPORTANT. PS Happy Diwali.

(I don't seem to have any icons relating to candles/FIRRRE. This one has cool light effects though.)

Happy Diwali! It is definitely the season for kindling a few fires just to keep the cold at bay.

It's got to be hard to celebrate an occasion which I know involves lots of family in a place that isn't anchored to the occasion (though it is celebrated here, most of Mr. Shapeshifter's coworkers went home early to do so or arranged the day off).

I do not know the appropriate return greeting nor do I know much about the holiday itself (I should remedy that) but I'm thinking of you and wishing you all the best it has to offer. I hope you find a bit of home and comfort somewhere.

Very Belatedly Happy Diwali!

This year my favourite IT person brought in many post-Diwali goodies. I may have eaten too many sweets, but no one else in my department seemed to want their share.
