I already kind of shared the rage on Twitter but OHHHH NO HIS LOCALITY HAS A BOLLYWOOD CINEMA AND ONE OF THE MOST FAMOUS INDIAN RESTAURANTS IN THE COUNTRY. LIFE IS SO HARD.

I mean, I know the function of diaspora Asians is not to gain the nice white people's approval by making awesome food available to them, but...maybe it's satire? Could it be satire? No?

I am entirely boggled by how racist it is apparently possible to be, in widely published media.

Ugggh. We subscribe to TIME, but mostly because it brings the lulz (The New Yorker has better long-form reporting, and we mainly rely on the Beeb for the instant updates). I was never a fan of Joe Klein's blether, and if this was meant to be satirical I think it fails epically.

Yeah, it's their back-page essay. While a rare few have shown insight, there's been a good few more of those that made me blanch for their fail. This is particularly bad. Tempted to say Klein should angle for a gig with Gawker - his ideological timbre is more in keeping with them than with a magazine that at least pretends to be the periodical of record.
