GCSE results
Aug. 21st, 2003 05:40 pmI got my GCSE results today.
What? Well, since you ask...
I got eight A*s, one A and one B. The A*s were for Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, English Language, English Literature, French and History. The A was for Classics (how I managed that, I have absolutely no idea - Classics?!) and the B was for Drama. As an entity, the school were less than encouraging - Mrs Jones seemed affronted that she couldn't put me on the photo of people getting straight As. I am more and more convinced Drama was a bad idea. I should have dropped it in October and done nine subjects like everyone else. Considering I hated it, it took up too much time, I was crap at it and now it ruins my results, I can only say in my defence that it seemed like a good idea at the time.
What else? Yes, Mrs Mills (the headmistress, folks) informed me "well done, but I don't think you worked very hard."
And what do I think? To be honest, I don't know. These results are okay. And I'm okay with that. Like Pedar always says, "neither better nor worse, but different."
The rest of the day was spent in uniform-shopping. It was hell, but at least I now have my uniform. I ought to ring Becca soon, to figure out the last-minute arrangements for the Last Supper party. It's all logistics, but in my ever-so-humble opinion, the details don't matter much. It will just be a lot of people trying not to get pissed while all around others are losing theirs. Or something like that.

on 2003-08-21 09:50 am (UTC)Even if you aren't entirely sure you're happy with them, they're better than most people will have got and very respectable.
And better than mine, just. Cow. [g]

on 2003-08-21 10:24 am (UTC)How many A*s???
Don't you DARE just say that they're okay results. Those are scarily fantastic results, and you more than deserve them. Tell your teachers to sod off- those results are amazing.
(And drama is like my music- it seemed a good idea at the time!)
Go. Party. Burn effigies of your teachers. I'll come and help, throw my cello on the fire while I'm at it. *grins*

on 2003-08-21 10:57 am (UTC)How can you say that your results were okay. I think you ought to be very happy with them. You couldn't have done any better. At least I don't think it's possible to get any higher than an A*. Of course it's only Classics and who cares about Drama anyway?
Have fun tonight. Have fun in Mechants for the next two years. I think today signalled my last day I will spend in that school. (except when I have to pick up my artwork, and I will come and visit everyone then) So sad. xxx

O.O
on 2003-08-21 02:24 pm (UTC)As to Mrs Mills, you can screw her with a metal-thread pastry-brush. She's an arse, she's screwed up A Level results, and in general she's an absolute tard and if I didn't like to try and keep my conscience clear I'd happily smack her head in. She's stupid and doesn't deserve her post as Head. Mrs Bush would do a much better job, and at least I respect her.
She's a stupid ho and don't you listen to her for one second. She's like the teacher who criticised me in Juniors because I always came last, being fat and asthmatic, and I stopped going, but he got egg on HIS face because the next week he was telling someone how I always went on these runs and I wasn't there. HA.
Anywho. *hugs*
