raven: [hello my name is] and a silhouette image of a raven (girl in blue)

It's raining again.
Not the way it was the other day, with mini-rivers and mini-flash-floods all the way down to the beach, but one of those steady downpours that you just know will go on forever.
It's quite nice to listen to, as the windows are open, but I can't help but think the real month of April's back after being absent for the last week and a half.

You know, I have a strong suspicion I'm bored. I'm updating my journal about precipitation. And the last update was about physics. Not only am I bored, I'm boring, too. Je m'ennuie, mais c'est la vie. Ooh. That rhymed.

Another thing I suspect at present is utterly unrelated but vaguely worrying. I'm no neat freak - pause for shouts of "Ya think?!" to fade away - but I have a disturbing feeling I go beyond general messiness. [livejournal.com profile] snowdrop24 and Becca never tire of telling me what a slob I am, but when I start noticing it myself, time for a little self-evaluation. I mean, it's three thirty in the afternoon. I haven't brushed my hair yet today. My room is its usual self, ie, there are books and bits of paper all over the computer table, the phone's on the floor along with another load of books, my bed is unmade and full of sand, and I've left a plate with a sandwich sitting on top of Dog. One of Mukora's relations has set up home in the window, which is odd because that's the window I leave open, and besides there's yet another half-drunk cup of coffee on the windowsill. Other than that, the room's no more messy than usual.
Note I haven't decided to tidy up. These are merely observations.

On another note entirely, I love this song. Is it "salt" or "soap" or "soul" that "dries your eyes?"

You think that's messy? You should see my room. First of all, there is the ~30cm deep mound of styrofoam peanuts that has been slowly spreading all over the room. Then, there are clothes, books, and notes for school all over the floor. Then there is an old mug of ovaltine on the bedside table, I can't remember when the sheets, which are covered in paint and full of seed beeds, were changed, there are three or four plates on the desk, and I could go on forever. I have an excuse though; I just finished exams. I'll clean it soon. Really, I swear.

Huh. My crown snatched away. I am no longer the messiest person I know.

What are styrofoam peanuts?

Styrofoam peanuts are little chunks of styrofoam for packing things in so that they don't get damaged in the mail.
