raven: [hello my name is] and a silhouette image of a raven (roses)
Not in a good mood at present. Pissed off and feeling weirdly ill to the point where I can't sleep and am doing the whole sleep-dep thing again (only, this time [livejournal.com profile] amchau isn't here to keep me, y'know, sane) and just when I'd like to spend a week in bed writing and watching DVDs, I'm going to Place-With-Unpronounceable-Name, Wales. For five days. In the mud, wind and rain, with clipboard, statistics and bloody Rice-Oxley. That's right, just when the woman had stopped making regular appearances within these pages, we're off again. All made worse by the fact I haven't done a single word of my coursework, because, well, why would I? And now I'm in trouble, probably, and I really do think the world is out to get me sometimes. As a twist of the knife, so to speak, there's a resident lunatic meet-up on Friday, which is the day I get back and so not so good.

Obviously, no internet access for the next five days. It's a pain, as I have a Buffy fic ready to be betaed and really no time to get it done; Am-Chau is... somewhere. Cumbria? Not where she usually is, anyway, and it's quite possible one or the other of us will go insane during the course of the week.

Urgh. The place itself is called Rhyd-y-Creuau, and apparently it's near Betws-y-coed, which is one point in its favour. I remember Betws-y-coed very well indeed; [livejournal.com profile] osiris13 and I spent some time there years ago, and it's a very pretty village. So if the sun shines, it shouldn't be too bad. I just hope Rice-Oxley doesn't attempt to kill me or vice versa.

I will, of course, keep notes. I doubt anyone will want to read about my adventures in the wilds of Wales (I've never been on D of E, so no laughing) but I may as well. Love to all and see you in a week.
