[Happy birthday, [livejournal.com profile] cucharita! And James too, of course. I love you, and Katherine Carey said today to tell you happy birthday. Almost wish I'd gone with you and [livejournal.com profile] hathy_col, now. Blah.]

Okay. Yeah. One week to go. Stress level is, amazingly, going down, although I'll probably regret saying that. Firstly, am mostly ignoring my A-level subjects. This may not be the best idea I've ever had, but if I can survive until Easter, I can sit down and blitz it all in three weeks of peace and quiet.

The job - I am resigned to it. I think.

The Drama Festival - well, today's rehearsal was not a success. About five of them turned up, so we got them painting scenery. We now have a set of cliffs, thirty-five Grangewood crests and a lot of crepe paper. We're making progress. Trixie knows marginally more of her lines.

Also, Bev told me something interesting. She had maths in L4G's formroom, and saw a notice on the wall: "Could everyone please bring in £1 so we can get a present for our sixth formers."

Cute. Very cute. We need to get something for them, of course. They are a sweet form, despite all the aggravation; it could have been much worse. For example, Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz keeps sneaking out of rehearsals to meet her boyfriend. Eesh. I actually pity all the people who are producing Upper Four forms. Apparently it's at that age where they discover the delights of tango-orange foundation and total bratitude.

Yes, where was I? The rehearsal wasn't all that successful, so I left early and went home. I said yesterday that I didn't want to watch Descent, but I did. A good episode, mostly; my favourite bits were Jonas and the banana and the ring transporters. For the uninitiated, a Stargate ring transporter doesn't work like a Star Trek transporter. Using a localised wormhole, it produces a set of rings that then transport everything within the rings to another set of rings, wherever they might be. Anyway, for reasons I will not go into, SG-1 have crashed Anubis' mothership at the bottom of the Atlantic. Jonas is attempting to reroute power, but the control room has flooded so he swims down there. In order to get out again, he uses the ring transporter.

Which transports everything within it. Jonas is transported successfully, but so is about a hundred gallons of seawater, which hits the floor in amazing fashion. Even my grandmother laughed. I love Jonas.

That is everything. Ta-da, etc.

HP, Sirius/Remus, R

[livejournal.com profile] amchau betaed for me, trawling expertly through my ellipse-ridden prose, and I'm very grateful. One or two other things - my French is not very good. Remus's is better, let's hope. Also, I am aware that JKR has said Remus is half-blood - I just didn't want to change it.
Onwards and upwards... )
