Crackling

Actually, rather minimalist and boring and it's only Rice-Oxley who's critical, which was to be expected.

Chemistry mock.

Aaargh. There was no twenty-three mark question for once - they're now limited to seven, but still. I think I did all right, but not spectacular, and aargh, real thing in January, not good on so many levels.

Lunch. Fish. Urgh. I went down to the library and Nichola tried to make me do the shelving. I refused on the grounds of the lower library being out of bounds - the governors are deliberating yet again. Annoying, as I did want to get into the fiction section - if I'm going to write Vimes/young!Vetinari, I'll need a copy of Night Watch in hand. I came back again in the afternoon to try, but there were still candidates and governors around.

I retreated into the library office after that, and discovered Rola is going to have orange crepe paper tied round her for her Tigger costume. Actually, I've been talking to Rola rather a lot lately - we're going to be at Medlink together and hopefully the vets (Steph and Meg) will come back with us. It's all about the train times. I would ring and talk to my mother about it, but the phone seems to be broken. The landline, that is. I have no idea why. It connects, but in horribly crackly fashion, and the internet is being dodgy as well. So is the gate, again. I've said it before but I'll say it again, nothing works in this house.

While I was standing there in the library office, I was informed that Mrs Barry has a message for me from Patrick, but she can't remember what it is.

And there goes the internet. Sigh.

Where was I? Yes, Patrick... she says she'll tell me the moment she remembers, which may not be soon.

And that is mostly all. The day has not been scintillating. It's been all right, though; I got last week's Politics back today, and Mr Evans has written "Top notch!!!" on it. He is much too funny for me not to laugh at him. And I also handed in my infamous English coursework today; yes, I went with the multi-culturalism theme. I'm undecided as to whether or not to post it here because for all I know, AQA may have some regulation about no prior publication or something. I'll have to find out.

Biology came last, as it always does (another mock next week) and it was far from successful. It was a practical, and as I was washing up, Rice-Oxley yelled, "Iona, your results are rubbish."

Well, I knew that. But so were everyone's because the dammed pH buffers were labelled wrongly - 8 was 6, 6 was 4, 4 was 4 and no-one is really sure about 2.

Becca and Kat are off to another set of Lit. lectures tomorrow. I have to decide what to wear. Blargh. Where does the time go? I have two days of note in the week - Wednesday, when I have to decide what to wear, and Friday, when I have to do the five-minute challenge, and they seem to come round so fast.

Enough. And I wouldn't like to speculate on the odds of the internet going again while I try and post this.
