raven: [hello my name is] and a silhouette image of a raven (sleep...)
Happy birthday, Meredith!

I wish I'd known about it sooner, actually. I love writing people birthday fics - because they're only meant for one person, you can put it all kinds of subtle references and in-jokes. Like I did for [livejournal.com profile] hathy_col a few weeks ago. Anyway, Meredith has my Fic From Hell #1, which I suppose will have to do. Fics From Hell #2 and #3 are still on my hard drive, festering. Well, #2 isn't - I managed to write some of it yesterday. It is the one with the practical jokes - if anyone has had any wonderful ideas for practical jokes recently, please share. I really need them.

My parents and grandmother have gone to have lunch with a family friend and see the airshow. I didn't want to go, and consequently have not even got dressed yet. I really ought to actually do some work, but it's so difficult. Anyway. I'm eating banana chips again like they're going out of style. Knowing my luck they'll probably turn out to be horrendously fattening.

I have no plans for today, it seems. Have been listening Placebo's Without You I'm Nothing, because it's that kind of a song, and I believe Hannah expressed her displeasure last night at the music or lack thereof on Em's computer! Each to their own, and I'm glad they had fun last night. Have a feeling everyone's going to be a smeghead for a while.

Hannah has also said she wants to write an entry about the difference between independent and state schools in this country. Can it be said to be indicative of my state of mind that I'm actually looking forward to it? This entry has been all unrelated bits of information, for which I apologise, but in being so it resembles my life at present. I need to rearrange the music on my computer, and decide exactly how long it will take to get cold enough for me to wear my coat to and from school instead of carrying it.

If I sound different from usual, there is reason for it. I'm going through another absorbing-writing-styles-like-a-sponge phase. I've been reading I Capture The Castle for two days now (nearly finished it), the journal of Cassandra Mortmain, who besides being fictional did write her journal in 1949, which may have an adverse affect on my own writing. But that's neither here nor there.

I'll stop now.
