I'm back. Not that anyone noticed I'd gone.

The internet is back. Thank you, ye whose job it is to dwell in the sky and reign over Internet Service Providers. Pedar and I have both spent untold hours on the phone to BT openworld, and eventually, they decided they had to define an entirely new kind of line fault especially for us, merely backing up my long-held view that nothing in this house actually works (my phone's not working, neither is the printer, the ice-crushing-thingit in the freezer has stopped crushing ice, the network never worked, etc).

Yes, we no longer have a network. However, in disconnecting it, we somehow disconnected the ADSL as well, which led to the chaos of the last couple of days. As I said once before, the best way to contact me at present is just to shout my name very very loud.

In a nutshell, it's nice to be back, and I'm going to see the FQF archive page. And the mash-slash group.
