Smoke alarm

The main excitement today has been the bloody smoke alarm. It's going off for no reason again, and once it starts, it sets off the old house alarm as well, and the noise has to be heard to be believed. It hasn't gone off at night yet, but I'm sure it will. Every time it starts, we have to go and fiddle about in the circuit breaker box, and every time we do that, all the sockets in my room stop working. Consequently, my computer just turns off randomly and I lose whatever I haven't saved.

So, yes. I haven't written much today. One of the Fics From Hell is finished, and I may upload it to Fiction Alley and autumnalis later, but right at this moment I can't be bothered. I also ought to email language_idling and explain what ice-creams are, but that also involves expending more energy than I possess at this moment.

My mother has in, peering suspiciously at the computer's desktop wallpaper. She never likes any of the wallpapers I choose. I used to have the album cover of U2's Achtung Baby - she didn't like it because Bono "looks scary." I then changed it to-

-to Kurt Cobain lying under a towel looking adorable, but she didn't like it because "he looks like he's dead." I then used a generic foggy picture, which she didn't like for some reason which I have forgotten, and now I have some fanart from the Fuh-q-fest, which she likes, but she thinks the pair in the picture are girls.

Oh, god, smoke alarm, I'm going crazy, shut up shut up shut up!
