Pros and cons of being the eldest
Jul. 6th, 2003 06:44 pmStrange day. Very hot, so I've not been in the best and brightest of moods.
Well, I don't have much to write about, except I have definitely not been swept away by a thunderstorm or a tornado. I've not been doing anything but writing, and to my extreme annoyance, the plot bunny I had for this week's
contrelamontre challenge has metamorphosed into a longer story. That is, too long for an improv, but too short for me to actually do much with. I am aggravated, but bow to my fickle muses.
You people had better not be forgetting me.
And now for the dilemma of the day. Nupur, bless her heart, has bought me something. She was in Claire's, buying another earring stud to replace the one she lost, and she bought me something. Unlike most, she knows what I like. An uber cute clear plastic cuff with five heavy spikes. I love it.
But she shouldn't have bought it. It's supposed to be me buying her things, not the other way round, and it makes me distinctly uncomfortable. She's such a sweetheart and I know she hasn't got much money, so I tried to stop her, but nothing doing.
However, I have had an idea. Nupur's always leaving her purse lying around. It would be the easiest thing in the world for me to slip a five dollar bill in it, which she hopefully wouldn't find until after I'm gone. The cuff, incidentally, came to $5.25, so that's all right.
Because I can't decide whether or not to actually do this, for fear of offending her or whatever, it's over to you:
[Poll #153788]
Any more thoughts on this, please comment.
I am now going to take a shower. I need one.
