The seeds of rebellion
Jul. 1st, 2003 03:15 pmInteresting day so far. Nupur made me go with her on a bike ride this morning, and although I had my doubts, it was fun. We were out before nine, so it was still cool, and there's something to be said for getting up early. I didn't say that.
Anyway, since then, we have made banana bread - similar recipe to
versaphile's, but it worked so much better than when I tried it. Nupur is, I think, just a naturally good cook, as things seem to mix and rise and not-burn for her. The little tubes of icing even worked for her - the cake is now covered with pretty flower designs and the words "Happy Birthday" as it's her dad's birthday today. It was Pedar's birthday yesterday, actually - I didn't get a chance to talk to him. I haven't talked to either of my parents since I arrived here. I know, I know, they're very busy and I musn't mind.
And that's all, I guess. I've not been doing much that's worth writing about besides losing my ability to type. I've been writing rather a lot lately, in that red ringbinder that's recently been restored to me. It's just one fic I'm writing, but I just let everyone think it's my diary because it's too hard to explain what it actually is - "yeah, well, you know Harry Potter, well, I write fiction involving gay relationships..."
Blah. This seems to be the redneck capital of the world. My extracurricular activities would not go down well. I did, however, get Nupur to start reading the book.
The fic, in the meantime, is an oddity and is shortly to eat my brain. I could do with a beta, actually, but not until I've typed it up, and to add further insult, it's a long fic. Very long. Long for me, that is.
And that is all. My life has become so boring. The highlight of it is downloading music for Nupur - this is dialup, so I can't get much for her, but she seems to like it. Last year, I downloaded some Silverchair songs, and a year on she's still listening to them. I've added some Placebo and Goo Goo Dolls stuff to the mix - hopefully she won't go the boyband route, but then, she doesn't listen to much music. I'm here to sow the seeds of rebellion, me.
