Yoghurt

Every time a breeze drifts across the quad, waves of cherry blossom head downwards. It's like it's snowing pretty pink snow. All summery and nice. Mmm.
I can't say anything has happened this morning, apart from me sleeping too much and still getting into school too early (for me) and getting back yesterday's attempt at Chemistry, which I am really irrationally, inexplicably pleased about. I got 94% for my troubles, and seeing as I realised apple juice will neutralise sodium hydroxide, am happy.
Biology made everyone feel icky. Seeing as we now know there are bacteria everywhere, on the desks and shelves and floors and on people's hands and in the air, breathing is not as pleasant as it used to be. For our culture, Meg spat into a beaker and the resulting... stuff... was spread (by me) onto the agar. Lovely. I labelled one "Meg's spit" and the other "Meg's spit with streptomyacin" and gingerly carried them across the room. Making yoghurt with live bacteria was actually more successful, although the control first coagulated and then went off. The aroma permeated the entire lab, and wafting it towards the windows with Becca's huge purple file did not help.

Becca and Meg have gone to French and Spanish respectively, and I've not seen [livejournal.com profile] cucharita, [livejournal.com profile] lilka or [livejournal.com profile] emerald_embers at all so far. Don't think Emma came in at all. Which leaves me all on my ownsome for a time, but I don't mind. Hungry, though. It's something cheesy for lunch, judging by the smell, or on the other hand, it could be the technicians throwing out the yoghurt. Difficult to tell. Why the Biology labs are next to the kitchens, I don't know, and hope never to find out. While queueing up for lunch, you can read the wall displays - on HIV, smoking, woodlice and skin disease. Maybe they're so you'll eat less food and save the school money.

This has been all ramble, no content. My apologies.

I've decided to only stay on the net for twenty minute stretches. The logic behind it is so I get more work done. Although, to be honest... I really need to. Do some work, I mean. It finally started hitting me this afternoon. Firstly, the fact revision really does work, which always seemed one of those everyone-knows-it-but-it's-never-been-proven-type things. But seeing as I did revise Chemistry yesterday, and was actually pleased with the final outcome, I think it has now been proven. And then there's the fact we're finishing syllabuses (syllabi?) all over the place, meaning there is nothing to do but revise, and such a lot to revise, too. Ten subjects. I didn't even think I wanted to know about ten subjects worth of stuff, and I know I'll forget it all on June 17th, but I don't this is the time for all that what's-the-point stuff. I can angst about that at my leisure when I get my results. Which right at this moment I don't want to think about.

So... yeah. Work. I have to actually do work. I've never done that before, never in my whole life ever. I've never revised for exams before.
Huh. First time for everything. I hope that includes feeling motivated.

[And I've never seen my mood icon for "working" before, either]
