raven: [hello my name is] and a silhouette image of a raven (blood roses)
I have to give a talk. I have been wailing about it. In English, that is. I have to stand up for three minutes and talk about either something I'm interested in or something I feel strongly about. I'm too apathetic to feel strongly about anything, and nothing I'm interested in is G-rated!
I wish, wish, wish I had the courage to stand up and talk for three minutes about the importance of slash in popular culture and do it with a straight face. I could go for the academic approach and talk about how it's something most straight females think about and OMGgaysexissohotitrox0r!!11!!

Anyway. Yuk.

I have decided, screw the consequences, I may as well do "Fanfiction and its effect on popular culture" as my English oral topic. And if the topic of slash!prettiness comes into conversation, then so be it. I have no idea how I'm going to explain this to a class of trackie warriors (obvious exceptions - um - excepted), but what the hell. They won't understand it anyway.

I am so bored. It has been an exceptionally boring day, involving boring lessons, boringness, even though I had to sing an Alphabet Agencies song to the tune of Silent Night, followed by another one to the tune of the YMCA. And I am deep-inside-bored... the kind of boredom that tends to make me depressed in the summer. I've never decided whether it's the boredom of summer or the summer of summer that makes me depressed. I don't think it matters.

At the weekend... I don't know, what should I do? I thought I was going to see The Two Towers with [livejournal.com profile] lilka and [livejournal.com profile] emerald_embers - is that still happening?
I also need to find time to go to the Bead Shop. Might go on Saturday. I'm thinking out loud here, but perhaps I could persuade [livejournal.com profile] purplerainbow to come with me, as she's never been known to pass up on beads, and I need a whole bunch. That's another topic for my English, that [livejournal.com profile] cucharita suggested - making bracelets. I don't know, that's really her line.

Which reminds me, for some reason... once again, I need to find something to wear. Mufti tomorrow, and Stephanie was asking me this afternoon, "Do you ever, like, wear, like, normal clothes?"
I did my best to answer honestly, but it didn't get me anywhere. She went on to say, "You could, like, wear all your chains!"

No. Quite apart from anything else, I can't wear them with the army green thingits that are hanging on my bedroom floor, waiting to be worn. I said I'd wear the hoodie I got from [livejournal.com profile] purplerainbow for my birthday because [livejournal.com profile] cucharita wants to see it, so I will. And that leaves finding various other bits 'n' pieces, but it'll be okay.

My journal has a wider audience than I thought. It seems Caroline has been reading from afar, but as she is LJ-less, she has not left any record of her presence.

So. She wants a mention. This is it. She asked me to tell the world (or my 78-strong friends list) about how she made Mrs Custard roar with laughter this afternoon by solemnly informing Helena she'd lost a mark for immorality.

Guess you had to be there.

And that is that. In other news, I have a long evening of doing nothing in front of me, as I refuse to do any work. The media player seems to be stuck on repeat, so I guess I'll just have to listen to Little Earthquakes again. Yayness.

Caroline. This was your mention.
