Hmmmm..... MST3K's real name is Mystery Science Theater 3000. It's set (unsurprisingly) in the year 3000, and the basic premise is that two robots and one human watch really old, really bad sci-fi movies together and laugh at them. So you get, a) a really trashy sci-fi movie to watch and b) ironic metatextual commentary. Or else just a bunch of robots shouting 'Kill him, kill him, kill him!' whenever the annoying sidekick appears. I saw it once in America, when they were doing a truly awful old Raul Julia film called 'Overdrawn at the Memory Bank' *insert scathing comment here*. I've never seen it on UK TV, but I guess if it were anywhere it would be on the sci fi channel. ....just on a random note, wasn't 'City on the Edge of Forever' the TOS episode where Kirk, Spock and McCoy get stuck in 1930s America and Kirk gets to flirt with Joan Collins? I remember it pricipally because Spock is building a makeshift machine of some sort on top of his bed in his and Kirk's apartment, leading to the interesting question - so where was he sleeping? Hmmmest. On an almost completely unrelated note - Trapper went home! Waaah! All my brother said was 'His new partner's nickname is Blow Job? Could they get any more obvious?'
