I know, right? Queer, Gaelic-speaking spy! How could it go wrong, and YET. And there is so much that's lovely about this book. One of my favourite details in it is how Phedre is taught Gaelic by Delaunay, not because it will Come In Useful (though it eventually does), but because to teach a difficult, beautiful language is an act of love. It really is infuriating that it gets so much else wrong.
