*blushes* I know, I know. No one is surprised that I love Dominic so much! Literally no one. :) And you were quite right, of course - it's myself I see in him, ridiculous self-destructive soul that he is.
I have that tendency too, and am trying to stamp hard on it. Though I still would argue A Seditious Affair has stepped out of its genre a bit, it wouldn't necessarily be a worse book if it hadn't!
