It's because the e-form is an Advanced Reading Copy without all the typos fixed. I just liked getting it early.
Fantastic, thorough review. I really enjoyed the book too, and I agree it's really two books, but Bujold has been doing that a lot lately (I think it started with The Hallowed Hunt which to me seemed to veer off in a different direction partway through, and certainly Cryoburn was a book with a looming backstory and an incredibly deep and heartbreaking but fairly unattached and extremely short coda).
I was very happy for everyone in this book, perhaps surprisingly considering it didn't end with all of them in totally perfect harmony, but no one seemed to mind much, so that was okay? Yeah.
