Yes! One thing I was going to mention above before the post grew to eat Manhattan was the way Memory retroactively characterises Illyan, so you read it and then go back and read his ear;y bits and think, wow, he's a twenty-seven-year-old kid who's been, well, violated - nine out of ten of the chip recipients got schizophrenia, really? - and then been given this job which means he's never had a personal life, he's never been off-duty, and it's all... yeah. I was really pleased to find your fic, it explores it all just I wanted it explored.
(And I love that bit in ACC too! I really do - because it's nice to see him post-chip as this fundamentally kind and caring man, in some ways just the same as he was thirty years earlier.)
Also. ILLYA. Illyan as Illya makes SO MUCH about his younger self make sense to me. Oh my god I have so many Thoughts on this.
