Just FYI: I have no phone at the moment. Or indeed wallet, keys or iPod, railcard, oystercard, three days' worth of notes and three memory sticks, because my bag was stolen from right under me tonight by some total fucker in a pub.

Graaargh. [livejournal.com profile] shimgray and [livejournal.com profile] sebastienne looked after me, I am fine, they are only THINGS, graaargh (and I didn't even burst into tears until I realised Shim's birthday present was gone). Anyway, if you're trying to ring me and I'm not answering, that's why.

Jesus fuck, I'm sorry. That is so upsetting and frustrating and gah. I hope you get everything replaced and feeling like you again as soon and painlessly as possible.

*hug*

*cliiiing* And I feel bad for being upset because it was just, it was just STUFF. But it was miiiiine. And my three days of notes on limited liability partnerships, they really were mine!

Thank you for hugs. *waaail*

Fuck. This happened to me last year, and it's the most frustrating, utterly powerless feeling. And I know exactly what you mean about feeling bad for getting upset, but you just don't expect people to go around just taking your stuff, and it just takes something out of you, you know what I mean? *hugs*

Goddamn, that's so horrible. Why do people suck so much?!

Also, you've probably already thought of this, but was your address in your wallet or written on anything? Because you might need to change your locks if they have your address and your keys.

BLEAH.

I am so sorry, that's really sickening and upsetting. Especially Shim's birthday present, the memory sticks and the notes. Big, big hugs.

I suppose it would be a bad idea to send threatening text messages to your phone, which is assuredly in the possession of said fucker. Many hugs to you.

I know this is horribly obvious, but report it to the police. At least you'll have a crime number, which means that any charges on your phone or on any credit/debit cards after the time your bag was stolen have to be refunded. Plus, necessary if you have insurance.

And you never know, you might strike it lucky & your bag (minus the more valuable stuff) might be found dumped & can be returned to you. If it's an amateur they may only keep the cash & anything they can sell for a few quid. Not every thief is able to crack credit cards.

P.S. future pub tips - wind your handbag strap around your ankle when you sit down, if you can't sit with it in your lap. Keep your mobile in a carry case clipped inside your waistband (it helps when it goes off, too, as you can feel it vibrate) & if you've got pockets keep a bank note that'll cover your taxi fare home in an emergency in it, or in your mobile case if you have no pockets or they're too shallow to safely hold a note. I used to keep my train ticket in my bra, but then again I'd be on a single night out rather than using a pass, so I'm not sure that'd work with you. The only reason I don't have a trick for the keys is 'cos I lived with my mum during the years I needed these tricks. Yes, I did come from an area with a high crime rate, & yes, it did come in handy a few times.

Argh, that's rotten. And surely it's not that long since you were robbed in Starbucks that time? People suck. I'm glad you had Shim and Emma to look after you. *hugs*

Oh, that is so awful. *hugs* I'm so sorry, dear. You have been robbed so often, far more than your fair share! (To date, I have never been robbed. You must be taking my quota, and while I'm very grateful, it's awfully hard on you. I will leave my bags more accessibly for you. *squish*)

They are THINGS, it's true, but personally I find it very upsetting when I even lose things with any kind of data on, at all. And Shim's present, when you had made sure to get it in time. *sigh*

It occurs to me this means you wouldn't get my text. :( As someone else said, probably not advisable to text the thief, but still. Something along the lines of 'you are an utter, utter wanker and I hope someone steals your hard work one day AND YOU CRY' seems so tempting.

I don't know, and it sucks. *sighs* You're absolutely right, of course - unfortunately it was my parents' address, and my house keys for up north that were taken, so I've had to tell them, which also sucks. Thanks for commenting, dear.

Thanks, dear. I just, I don't even. Three days of notes on bloody limited liability partnerships, to whom are those of any value. Sigh.
