raven: [hello my name is] and a silhouette image of a raven (music with rocks in)
Becca has a new game. It's called "Bogies", and involves two people going into a public place and one of them whispering, "Bogies." The other person says it slightly louder, the first person slightly louder than that, and so on and so forth until they're screaming "Bogies!" at the top of their voices. The winner is the one who shouts the loudest. Naturally. Becca and Bev were at it all day. I was placed in the difficult position of trying to shriek with laughter at the same time as pretending I didn't know these people.

Juvenile hilarity aside, the week has not got off to a good start. To begin with, I forgot my ringbinder. My life is in that ringbinder. At least, my school life is. Everything started to go wrong without it. My Prizegiving form went AWOL (yes, I lost it). Becca wrote me a new one, which was surreal but actually worked out. That done, I went to English and dozed through ten pages of Utopia, assured Helena that it really does get better than this, and then went up to the common room and panicked because Becky told me I had a Biology test I didn't know about.

That seem an opportune moment to decide to skive French. Oh, I hate General. And I just didn't bother going. Stayed in the common room and went to the Arts thingit module at twenty past eleven. That was all right, actually. Managed to write the essay plan and hand it in and go to lunch. So far, so hoopy, but I hadn't done any Biology revision and my file was still AWOl and Becca wouldn't stop shouting "Bogies!"

But we did manage to make arrangements for Friday. We go to Prizegiving in the morning at the Philharmonic ([livejournal.com profile] lilka's going to be there! Yay!) and afterwards, I'll get the train home, get changed, get my stuff, and go back into Liverpool. Becca and I will meet at about four, do some... um... shopping, and the two of us plus Enid will get the train to Birkenhead Park and hopefully get there in time. What time do you want us to arrive, incidentally?
I believe Emily is putting up with us overnight, and we'll get off home on Saturday morning.

So that's arranged, more or less.

Back to today, then. It wasn't all that interesting. The trains didn't turn up for hours at the station, leaving me in the cold, but I did get home eventually and yes, my grandmother is being very very annoying. It's hard to explain why; maybe when I have at least an hour to explain, I will.

To finish, I've been reading Monstrous Regiment today. Words cannot express how much I love this book. To start with, it reads like M*A*S*H. Not that anything can read like M*A*S*H, but you know what I mean. It has the same themes, more or less, and Maladict is Hawkeye. He just is. He's cool, he lounges against things, he's constantly wisecracking, and he even has his very own phase of impending insanity. He's brilliant. Actually, the entire book is. I wanted a sequel to The Truth, and this is it. No-one ever told me that.

I'm tired now.
