"You say you love me,
Then you do it again,
Then you do it again."

And it took me this long to realise why the song is called Re-offender. I amaze myself.

While I'm here, then, I did not have a nice night. One of those nights where everything begins to crack and go wrong, and I wrote and wrote and covered a few sheets of loose-leaf and a few kilobytes on disc, but it was all resolutely binned this morning. There are some things I don't want to read again.

However, I managed to get out of bed in the morning without incident, and the day has been remarkably peaceful. Pedar was home, as he's not going to work at all this week, and we went to the village in the morning. Picked up a mysterious parcel - I was hoping it would be my mp3 player, but it turned out to be a free gift of energy-saving lightbulbs from British Gas - and dispatched a not-so-mysterious one, which is going to [livejournal.com profile] language_idling.

When we got back, I downloaded some music, drank a lot of coffee and started re-reading Men At Arms, but in the end I caved and did some work. Politics essays, which were very very tiring even though I only wrote about three sides. Pedar has moved his laptop to the stone table and is slowly creating a database, shouting at it every so often. I haven't dared ask the whys and wherefores. I like having him here, actually. He never runs around yelling for me to do some work and to get off the computer. And weirdly enough, I did do some work and get off the computer. I have a feeling I've been reverse-psychologised.

He makes good coffee, too. Better than I do.

Tomorrow, I plan to do the last essay, and then I'll have finished all my homework. That is, except for the other English essay. I still can't believe I left my anthology in school. In any case, the last essay I can do is more Politics, so that shall be done. I also have to do a beta and go through another one that has been done for me.

It also occurred to me that I still haven't got an email from populli.org. I ought to have done by now, but seeing as I've already emailed and inquired, a few days ago, it seems rude to email again. I'm not sure what to do about that.

I am not going to SG6. I am not.

Stop it...

Not.

On that note, I've been talking to [livejournal.com profile] hathy_col this afternoon. We've had a healthy discussion about toilet seats, fingerless gloves and the Librarian. She claims she has said "Librarian-poo" in real life. I would have laughed, but when I was doing my Politics essay, I had to repeatedly check I'd written "Prime Minister" and not "Patrician."

SG6 is this weekend. It will be quiet round here, although I'm yet to approach my parents about my plans - Hallowe'en stuff, that is. Failing that, Enid, Becca and Hannah, popcorn and pizza and more junk food and possibly Red Dwarf and Velvet Goldmine. Ooh, glitter. And I'll get my bracelets back. I am yet to make any from yesterday's beads. I shall have to do that tonight.

Time to go downstairs. Need coffee.

Okay...

I officially feel stupid. Very stupid.

You know Good Omens? Well, most of you do. You know the bit where Aziraphale and Crowley stop to help Anathema with her bike? All the way through that scene she thinks there's something strange about these two. Something indefinably strange. Finally, at the end of that particular bit, Crowley says to Aziraphale, "Get in, angel."
Anathema then thinks something like, so that was it. She had been perfectly safe after all.
Now I believe I may have been being stupid. I always read this to mean she realised they were supernatural entities. But it now occurs to me (read: someone told me) that she may well have thought, ah, human gay couple.
I don't believe I missed this.
And I can't look it up because [livejournal.com profile] shipperkitten has borrowed the book. Raargh.
