raven: [hello my name is] and a silhouette image of a raven (hawk/trap)
For the record, I am ready to go home. Today has involved, so far, bhajans, Bala Gokulam ("For the facilitation of Hindu children" and no, I have no idea what that means) and my being made to look pretty in a salwar kameez. It wasn't bad, being white and silver with a rather flowing dupatta that didn't suffocate me, but it was the principle of the thing. I hate being moralised to, and I hate the way they think I'm stupid. And for the record, I am a Hindu child. For much of the morning, I have been proving this by drawing on my tolerance for all living things no matter how stupid and also my respect for my elders, and not punching certain people in the nose.

Now Nupur has Fogana dance practice with her friends (includes bitch!Chanda whom I've already ranted about at length.

I wrote the above two hours ago. Since then, I have cheered up greatly, for three main reasons. Firstly, email from Becca asking can I come to a barbecue on Saturday. The very thought of it - that is, unpredictable English summer, lots of people who are not Indian and given to patting me on the head, ability to get there by myself with my own friends and of my own volition - made me very happy. This was followed by a trip to Borders. I've said it so many times - I love bookshops. I got two books and a cup of coffee with chocolate powder and honey, and that just about completed the cheering-up process.

Twenty-four hours from now, I'll be on my way home.

I know I owe emails to several people. Thou shalt be replied to - as soon as I get home, methinks.
