I am panicking. It is irrational. It is too late to Do Something about it all. I understand this. I am still panicking. There are people drifting about the place looking like serene black-and-white flowers in their elegantly ruffled post-exam sub fusc. I am still panicking. Listening to the Indelicates' ...If Jeff Buckley Had Lived on repeat. This not good and possibly unconscious manifestation of something. Have no desire to be suicidal rock star. This probably indicates I have grown as a person sice I was sixteen. Have desire to be someone who doesn't have Finals. Realise will get my wish if I live long enough, but this is NOT THE POINT.
Panic panic. Please to be talking me down from tree. Panicpanic. Am tired of being calm. Have been very calm, one feels. Almost zen. Have been serene. Have talked other people down from trees.
(Okay, am going to turn computer off and do past question. This will be calming? Maybe?)
(It is a lovely tree. It is beautiful and has cherry blossoms and is exactly the sort of tree I want to be in my next life and for all it is metaphorical I want to stay in it forever.)
(YES MORE PARENTHESIS WHAT OF IT. Tomorrow. Going to meet English finalists with
absinthe_shadow. All should accompany. All shall love me and despair.)
eta: past question indeed weirdly calming! Although, dear self: you are twenty-one years and six months old, it is time to outgrow your ADOLESCENT LOVE AFFAIR WITH THE SEMI-COLON.

No, just, Iona, you are brilliant and it will all be fine. The sooner you start, the sooner you will be finished! And I won't be finishing tomorrow, either, worse luck. Woes.

Alas that I have an exam on Wednesday and cannot nip down to Oxford for tomorrow night. On the other hand, I do love you and am despairing, but would like to think that the two are not linked.

I would feel bad about trying to talk you down from your tree when it sounds so nice up there. Um. Exams will be over very soon, and then it will be a summer of joy and frolicing, yes? *hugs*

OH, AND SEMI-COLONS ARE GREAT; YOUR AFFAIR IS NOT SOME PUPPY LOVE CRUSH BUT AN ABIDING PASSION THAT WILL BE WITH YOU FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE. REJOICE IN IT!

That panic? It is the worst feeling in the world. But you're almost past it now. Hang in there, remember to breathe, and yes, past papers.
Love you.

I have a thing for you. I think it is very awesome. Only I can't quite figure out how I'm going to send it to you. *is mysterious*

Ooooh! I am intrigued! And, er, have the same postal address for the next three weeks...

It will pass and you will be OK, because while exams are a very fast pile of horror, but the thing is that they are so fast that soon they are over and you can collapse in tired joy.
Or this is what I keep telling myself, because I've got two waiting sneakily around the corner for me at the end of June, and many assessments in between me and them, which are grinning evilly at me and so on.
Also if it helps at all I am very envious of the whole Oxford (!) thing because I'm a second year Medieval Studies major, which is a strange thing to be in Australia.
And the icon is for what I hope you get when you get your results!

And, yes, Oxford, Oxford is lovely. When my exams are over I will be much more interesting, promise. :)

Re: Semi-colons
Also, you will be fine. But trees are good enough places to be in the mean time.
