raven: [hello my name is] and a silhouette image of a raven (lost - smile like you mean it)

Argh.

The smoke alarm went off. I was in the shower. Oh, the embarrassment.

So to distract me from the memory, there is memery:

The object of the game is to stump the person writing the journal. I've been writing in my livejournal since July 2002 (it looks like earlier, but the dating is all skew-wiff 'cause of an info-dump from a different journal that went wrong), and can't possibly remember all the topics I've talked about in that time. Your job, if you choose to accept it, is to go into the archives of my journal and pull out a random quote, only from public posts, and then my job will be to see if I can remember what I was talking about.

I promise not to cheat, but you will have to just trust me on that.

You tell me if I'm remotely right or wrong. Please don't pick a quote that's so random that it could apply to anything, like "feh" or "Damn it!" or something equally general. Pick something that might actually be about something.

Sounds like fun to me.

How did you do that lol???
(*is staring at your charlie icon*)

It is teh pretty, isn't it? *hearts Charlie* What do you mean, how did I do that? The smoke alarm has a mind of its own and goes off whenever it bloody well feels like; I, of course, was convinced there was an actual fire, and you can guess the rest.

[identity profile] eternalwings.livejournal.com 2005-09-11 07:57 pm (UTC)(link)
lol when I'm in the shower I don't set the fire alarm off *snortgiggle*

"I'll ring them again and they'll have forgotten who I am and had a computer failure in the meantime so everything anyone has ever told them in the last thirty years will have become so much gibberish at the bottom of a computer screen."

Was I getting the internet fixed? I seem to remember spending hours on the phone to BT. Oh, I don't know, tell me!

[identity profile] apestaartje.livejournal.com 2005-09-11 07:59 pm (UTC)(link)
lol. Yes. You were actually getting wireless internet access here (http://www.livejournal.com/users/loneraven/244851.html).

It went perfectly. All right, not perfectly. But it did go well and gave everyone involved warm fuzzies for the rest of the day.

I'm afraid it's entirely possible that you have.

Enlighten me, go on. :)

You're almost exactly a year out.

[identity profile] yonmei.livejournal.com 2005-09-11 09:01 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm going to go out in a minute. It's so hot and so cloudy there will probably be a thunderstorm, but never mind. Reading other people's lj entries is a good way of whiling away my life.... I should go. Really, I should go. Oh - look at the icon. Isn't he pretty? So underrated, but so, so pretty...

Not even going to try this one...

[identity profile] loneraven.livejournal.com 2005-09-11 09:05 pm (UTC)(link)
This sounds like fifteen-year-old-me, who should have been shot for existing. *cringe*

To aleviate your embarrassment -

In my first year at college, the smoke alarm went off at 9.30 one night. So we all trudge out into the Rhode Island nighttime fall in our PJ's. One of the boys came out wrapped only in his blanket, so pissed off at being woken that he just screamed out "Fuck you guys!" and... de-blanketed himself.

It was a sight to behold.

So even good things can come from this fire alarm/shower arrangement.

*snigger* Oh, dear. You're right, that beats mine. :)

This is excellent preparation for university. I wouldn't put it past your parents to have done it deliberately.

Yep, been there, done that. Advice for anyone starting uni - always know where your pants are.

[identity profile] gamesiplay.livejournal.com 2005-09-13 03:22 am (UTC)(link)
Indeed. More advice: do not lock your keys in your room and then go shower and then get caught in a fire alarm.

Actually, just do not lock your keys in your room, period.

This made me laugh:

And then a disembodied voice came out of nowhere, they had a conversation about the theme of the play being doors and sardines, and finally the disembodied voice said, "Do me a favour, Dolly."

*g* Is that from when I went to see Noises Off? I can't think of any other likely possibility.

Five hundred points!
