I echo all those people who have said this sounds like a good meme to do when you're having a bad day. (Seriously. About the only cheerful thing about my professional life at the moment is that I'm running a complex, adjudicated first registration - which is currently out of my practice area, but was given to me because, "Well, because... you're you.")

Anyway, meme. I currently have 148 works archived at the AO3. Pick a number from 1 (the most recent) to 148 (the first thing I posted there), and I’ll tell you three things I currently like about it.

oooh, this is a Doctor Who/HP crossover, Shelter From The Storm, now thoroughly jossed but never mind. I still like the basic idea of this story very much - the Doctor (Ten, at that point) hangs out with Remus Lupin at several points in his timeline, and all they do is hang out, because their storylines can't intersect and leave everything else unchanged. And I love that I remember so clearly where and when I wrote this, suitably for a story that really is all about time and place: I was eighteen, just as Remus is as the story ends, gavagai and I had been up until around 2am and I went home fully meaning to go to bed, and I was sitting at my desk in my tiny little attic across the road from Ashmolean and when I looked up it was dawn.

I also love this exchange:

"I wish you could, too. But it's my fight."

"Maybe it's mine as well," says the Doctor hopefully. "These Death Eaters of yours – do any of them have funny-coloured eyes? Triangular heads? Large gaping sphincters in unhygienic places?"

Remus laughs, and the sound is a sudden silver bubble. "They're not aliens, Doctor." He pauses. "It would be easier if they were."

"Yes." The Doctor nods. "Yes, it would be."
