Great story. I loved DS9, but I've never been a Dax fan (any incarantion) so I am surprised about how much I enjoyed your story. Loved Kira's sudden hesitance in answering and Ezri's response. Excellent point that she basically woke up one day different ... that she hadn't trained to be host. And she was just a barely our of college kid wen it happened.
